On a drizzly Ruby Beach day on the Oregon coast.   I was taken by the dry rocks verses the wet rocks.  Small things interest small minds...

At the southern end of the Olympic Rain Forest, in Washington State, stands the world's shortest woman.  In this picture, she can be seen rooted in front of the biggest Sitka Spruce tree on Earth.  The Spruce is 273 feet taller than the woman. The tallest Douglas Fir tree, a mile away, is a 302 feet tall. Stranger still, the biggest Pine tree on earth stood only two miles from this Spruce.  It fell down, last year, in a wind storm.  By the way, the tallest Redwood Tree, which is  hundreds of miles south, in California, is 370 feet tall.  Imagine that.
And a bloody nice park it is, Mate.

This is telephoto from a moving car.  It shows one of the Oregon Dunes reclaiming the vegetation or perhaps the vegetation advancing on the dune.  Your choice.
If you have never flown a small plane, this is what 500 feet looks like.
Found my way downstairs and had a cup, and looking up, I noticed I was...well....

I see you.
And finally, the bridge we see when we return home from any trip up the coast.  Spiffed up here, the old girl is looking pretty good  for being in her 90s next year.
