Light Fossils: Death Valley (#8 of 10 sets)
(Set #8 of 10 sets) Death Valley is a desert valley located in Eastern California. It is the lowest (282 feet below sea level), driest (2 inches/year) and hottest (134 degrees Fahrenheit) area in North America. Death valley holds the record for the hottest 24 hour period (117 F average) on Earth. There are a lot of pictures here (Ten long sets) and the images are fairly diverse. but with my usual bent towards geology. I have turned up the contrast on all of these pictures but for the most part, have NOT increased the saturation. Death valley is a hot, hazy location and without added contrast, the plethora of colors all around The Valley would go largely unappreciated.
